Three things to consider when moving to the Cloud

Making the decision to move your unified communications environment to the Cloud comes with considerable benefits. In this edition of Whiteboard Fridays, we’ve outlined three core areas to consider as you plan UCaaS journey. 

1. Moving from a CapEx to an OpEx Model

Cloud computing and the delivery of solutions “as-a-service” has shifted IT spending to a more digestible pay-as-you-go model, making it possible to escape the hardware trap and turn IT operations into an operational expense (OpEx). This gives businesses the major benefit of predictability in their IT spend and eliminates the need to plan for upgrades and maintenance. Even more beneficial is the agility that this model affords. In a traditional CapEx scenario, businesses needed to invest and deploy all of the necessary infrastructure to support their maximum workload. In a typical on-premises scenario, a sizable portion of IT resources are dedicated to ongoing daily management and maintenance of the UC environment.
