Dana Miller: Hi everyone, and welcome to another episode of In the Know with Intrado Digital Media. Today’s episode is a special one. In case you missed it, we recently held a webinar in partnership with Content Marketing Institute and Ambassador, all about referral marketing programs and ways that you can use them to grow your business and increase sales.

Ambassador experts Rachel Nielsen and Heather Chesnutt walked us through actionable tips and tricks, as well as real customer success stories, all geared towards ways to help you grow a successful referral marketing program.

So now we’re going to get into a few tips for your own strategy.

The first one I want to dive into is to integrate your program throughout the customer journey. Think about all those touch points that someone has with your brand. And up on the screen here, we have our own referral program. We drink our own kool-aid, of course, so those are the images you’re seeing here. We have our referral program in the logged in area of the Ambassador marketing technology software. We have it built into our homepage and have a refer-a-friend module. We have a dedicated landing page, and we even include it in our marketing initiatives, things like newsletters and other customer communications. So, think of all those different touch points, especially on something like e-commerce. Think about when somebody is making a purchase, the two areas of peak excitement are when you just made that purchase and when your physical product arrives, right?

Rachel Nielsen: Yeah, absolutely. This is one of the things we always do when onboarding a customer using a customer referral program, is making sure you bake in your referral program everywhere. It should be a part of the experience of being your customer and fit in where it feels natural.
