SITUATION

Microsemi Corporation is an Irvine, Calif.-based designer, manufacturer and marketer of high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits and high-reliability semiconductors. The Company's semiconductors manage and control or regulate power, protect against transient voltage spikes and transmit, receive and amplify signals. Its products include individual components, as well as integrated circuit solutions. Microsemi primarily serves the markets of defense, commercial air/space, industrial/semicap, medical, mobile connectivity, and notebook/liquid crystal display televisions (LCD TVs).

Like all public companies, Microsemi is required to report their quarterly earnings. Each quarter Microsemi reports their earnings through a quarterly conference call. As one of the most important calls for the company, Microsemi executives share earnings information with more than 75 board members, analysts, journalists and employees.
